Happy Dogiversary!

Last night marked one whole month since Chibani arrived for her trial weekend…and since she hasn’t left yet I think we can safely say we are now family. :)

Things we’ve learned:

  • She’s incredibly happy and loveable.
  • She’s not cuddly but wants to be near me at all times.
  • She’ll steal MY blanket the minute I turn my head.
  • She will only let me pet her when she’s on her leash or in her kennel.
  • She loves her walks.

  • She looks like anything but a dog (deer, monkey, horse, armadillo, mouse, you name it!)
  • She is fine left alone in her kennel, but leave the apartment for 5 minutes to do laundry and it’s the end of the world.
  • She stress eats the cat’s food.
  • She has developed a hankering for cat poop. ewwwwww.
  • She snores like a Mac truck.

Awwwww….wook at that widdle face!!!  :)

Time Burglar

Man, who knew such a little dog could steal so much of my time?  I had forgotten that pee breaks, and feedings, and cuddles eat up my personal time like nobody’s business.  Between the dog, the cat, and my dating adventures I’m running out of ME time…including blogging!

So I’m a day behind again. Bah!

Yesterday’s breakfast…lemon yogurt, strawberries, banana, and crumbled Sticky Bar.

I opted to make some ME time during my lunch hour…instead of hitting the gym I ran some errands, got a desperately needed manicure (with my found money!), and picked up lunch on the run.

IMG_7733

Thrifty Foods deli… Ancient Grains salad and spinach & feta samosa.

IMG_7735

Half-sweet hazelnut misto while getting my nails done.

IMG_7738

As usual I was in a time crunch for dinner, so instead of the ham & pea risotto I had planned I put together a quickie pita pizza.

IMG_7739IMG_7740

Greek style pita makes an excellent crust!  With tomato paste, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, fresh spinach, mozzarella, and leftover ham from Sunday brunch.

IMG_7748

Sprinkled with fresh parmesan.  Totally delish and satisfying.

I raced off to a coffee date with Bachelor #4.  Well, tea date actually.  Nice visit, but the hunt continues. :)

Back at home I found a whole hour for myself to just lay on the couch, watching Criminal Minds, and munching cookies.  Heaven.

Thankfully Chibi lets me sleep in the morning.  I suppose sleep is ME time, right? :)

Doggie Envy

IMG_1284

Stoopy says that Chibani has been getting too much blog airtime and demanded to have his photo posted too! :)

Last night I was way too tired after photography class to sit at the computer to blog.  I managed to enjoy 20 minutes of couch time and it was glorious!

Quick and dirty rundown of yesterday’s eats…

Coffee and Sticky Bar…

IMG_7676IMG_7677

Lemon yogurt with strawberries, banana, and sunflower seeds.

IMG_7678IMG_7681

Chibi and I had a lovely walk around the block after I hit the gym, so I was pretty much starving when I finally got to eat lunch.  Repurposed leftovers from Sunday brunch

IMG_7686

Oven baked the hashbrowns, and added the sausages to an egg white scramble with green onions and tomatoes.

IMG_7687

My desk was littered with Ikea candy wrappers by the end of the work day!

IMG_7689

That carby lunch and sugar buzz got me through photography class though.  Especially paired with a Venti Vanilla Rooibos Tea (in the new logo cup!) and Sticky Bars I brought for me and Charmaine.

IMG_7693IMG_7697IMG_7700

After class I made a light dinner of Greek Salad, pita and hummus.

IMG_7715IMG_7713IMG_7717

Highlight of the day: When my renos were done they accidentally overcharged on the HST, so I received $40 cash back! :)  It’s like found money…#winning (*groan)

IMG_7719IMG_7721

I celebrated with Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies.

And more Stoopy love.

Trying for Snow

After Monday’s incredible wind and snow storm – Snowmaggedon! – I woke up yesterday to a completely clear day.  Not a drop of white stuff. I was oddly disappointed…I think the Halifax Winters rubbed off on me!

Being Wednesday I grabbed a simple breakfast for during my conference call.  Chobani and banana.  There was of course coffee too.

IMG_2657

Stoopy helped to ensure the container was clean.

IMG_2663

Lunch was leftovers from my dinner out Tuesday evening.  The salad was still fresh and super crispy…and I had extra dressing packed up for dipping the cukes and tomaters.

IMG_2667

Served up with crack hummus…and I finally opened the box of Mary’s crackers I bought like 3 weeks ago.

IMG_2664IMG_2669

After lunch I got a chill.  Maybe eating yogurt and salad once Winter has hit isn’t the coziest of ideas?  Tea took care of that.

IMG_2670

A mid afternoon swim in the almond butter jar…

IMG_2674

And a late afternoon snacky-poo to tide me through the evening…mini Mandarins, dates, and chewy oatmeal cookies leftover from my last TJs gift package…

IMG_2672

After work I bundled up against the cold and made the 15 minute walk over to Ingmarie and Alex’s for some chitchat and cocktails.  I had hoped by leaving my car at home I might convince the snow to come for my walk home, but no luck.

Alex made us drinks that warmed us from the inside and his sister showed up with homemade chocolate chip meringues…so delicious.  I then walked back home and decided to heat up a late night bowl of leftover soup.

I couldn’t resist the warmth and spice of the broth and dumplings calling me from the refrigerator…

IMG_2678IMG_2680

And would you look at the lovely hand made gifts from Ingmarie.  As if she hasn’t spoiled me enough since I returned to town but she had belated birthday gifties for me too.  :)  Such a talented friend I have.

IMG_2691IMG_2798

I just want to stuff that bowl to the brim with fluffy white rice!
