Well, it’s one day after our first Booty Camp and my lower back officially hurts. I’m thinking the poor execution of the exercises caused by working in the sand may not be the best for me. We shall see. I’m a stickler for proper form! In other news, my quads are pretty stiff but I love that feeling…means the squats actually did something. :)
Sorry for the lack of mid-day post…keep reading and you’ll find out why. Plus, I wanted to give people a chance to read my morning post before it got pushed off the page with more daily food porn. If you haven’t read it yet, click through here to get a little insight about how I got here.
This morning I really wanted coffee, but since I splurged yesterday I decided to stick with my new resolve and opted for decaf tea instead. This is actually helping me deplete the huge stash of different herb teas I have going on here.
Continuing the theme of using up stuff on hand, I decided to thaw out one of my Banana Oatmeal Coconut Muffins and crumbled it into my Stonyfield Farms organic vanilla yogurt along with some sliced banana and strawberries.
I had two majorly long conference calls for work today, so in between I decided to break for lunch. The turkey in the fridge was looking good, but I didn’t feel like a sammich so opted for a snack plate instead.
Deli sliced roast turkey, light cheddar, baby carrots, cukes, the last of the lemon-dill hummus, whole wheat pita, and pickles.
Just in case anyone was curious, these are the pitas I buy. Only 80 calories each! I just realized they are actually made here in Halifax…nice!
While on my second call I got snacky (I mean seriously…2 hours with a phone glued to my ear…meh) but I was a good girl and stayed out of the cookies and got a bowl of green grapes instead. I love grapes for snacking…they seem like candy but they’re not!
To replenish my energy after the draining phone time…an On the Glo granola bar. :)
And for dinner I was on my own while FH was out running some errands, so I took the opportunity for stuff I like that he doesn’t…a big ol’ salad with strawberries & honey…and a leftover lentil walnut burger. Deeeeelish.
In the big bowl:
Arugula, baby spinach, matchstick carrots, tomatoes, red onion, strawberries, honey, s&p, EVOO drizzle. Added some feta at the last minute. Yummy for the tummy!
I added those crackers with herby cream cheese and now I’m STUFFED. To the brim. Totally tasty though, so totally worth it.
For exercise today I was planning a little jog, but the weather just went south again so I guess some downloaded yoga will have to do. It’ll feel good on my sore back and quads. My session on Monday night was heavenly, so I hope I can recreate that feeling. :)

"grapes…they seem like candy but they’re not!" made me laugh, so cute ;-)
Great post on your background I know that many people can relate to that for sure :-) 3 years ago before our MVA I took up dragon boat racing and I LOVED it! If my shoulder wasn't such trouble, I'd be in it again for sure.
I went out and bought herb & garlic cream cheese tonight all because of you. Can't wait to have it on a veggie wrap tomorrow :)
I'm gonna have to try those burgers. I just bookmarked the youtube vid. Thanks!
