The One with the Impromptu Buffet

Lex invited me, Angie, Farm Girl and family, Tasha, and Lynn over to view the videos that she and Dave took throughout our Blogger GTG extended weekend.  Poor Lynn is crazy sick and couldn’t join us, but we felt her there in spirit along with our out of town sisters Cat, Jen, and Amy.

I gotta feelin’ I’ll love you girls forever!  *mwah*

I would just like to say…we can’t sing.  But we can sure have a lot of fun trying!

In true food blogger fashion, eats were a must!

It’s what we do.

Food bloggers eat.

nom nom nom.

:)

What started out as a few offers to bring snacks turned into a dinner buffet.

Good thing I’ve got cute jammies!

…and good thing I was up early this morning.  We commented last night about how it is garbage day today, but of course neither of us remembered to take it out to the curb before bed.  I was up early this morning to get a head start on work and heard the garbage truck coming up the street.  I ran out there in my jammies and flip-flops just in time!  The truck actually stopped and waited because they saw me run down the driveway.  haha.

Getting up an hour early totally paid off.  I am now all caught up from yesterday and have time for a trip to the gym.  I’m just on my way out for a chiropractor treatment, and will stop for a run and some quick strength training on the way home.  Yaaaieeeee!

Breakfast was a quickie:

Coffee…one sad cup :(

001   Sample box of Multigrain Cheerios (came with the newspaper!) with half a sliced banana and skim milk.

Bottomless Pit

Morning all!  Sorry for the lack of post last night.  FH rented us a movie and I managed to doze off part of the way into it.  I guess that 7am wake-up call got me!  Of course, then when we went to bed neither of us could sleep.

I was constantly feeling hungry yesterday.  Not boredom hungry, but that actually empty, hungry feeling you get at the back of your throat.  Does everyone get that, or is it just me?  So weird.  Even a short time after eating something, that feeling would return.  Maybe I have a little bug or something because my tummy wasn’t too happy last night either.  I blame the cheese plate on Sunday night!

Speaking of filling my face yesterday…

About an hour after lunch that hungry feeling came back so I had my afternoon snack.  I chose a Clif bar because I thought it would be more filling and satisfying.  Oatmeal Raisin Walnut…kinda like a really gooey cookie.  Yummm.  And a big glass of Santa Cruz Organic Lemon Ice Tea.

I was hungry-ish AGAIN an hour later but forced myself to wait until dinner because I knew there was no way I was actually hungry.  (and before you ask, I was drinking water and it made it worse!)

For dinner we had a simple Summery meal.  I grilled up a couple of those awesome sundried tomato lean turkey sausages on the Griddler (we were gonna BBQ them but the weather got a little ugly at dinner time) and we ate em like hot dogs on toasty buns.  Served with tossed salad and some PC Organic potato chips.

Topped my dog with some light mayo, mustard, diced onion (good idea honey!) and a sprinkle of fresh parmesan.  Tasty!

During the movie I decided I should have a little snack (after I woke up from my impromptu nap!) so I wouldn’t have that hungry feeling when I went to bed.  My tummy was being overly sensitive so I opted for half of an apple with White Chocolate Wonderful and a little serving of trail mix.  It hit the spot OK, but there’s still something up with my poor tummy!

Mr. Stoopy came along for a little cuddle and photo opportunity!  He likes to maintain regular visibility on the blog!  :)

Howdy Neighbor

I had a glorious sleep last night. Probably because I was exhausted. Long day, good workout, red wine, too much food, late night = sleep like the dead. As per usual I snoozed a little too long and was a bit groggy when I got up.

I was supposed to take my car in to get the thermostat fixed today, but I'm glad I called first because they received the wrong part. Too bad because I was hoping to have it fixed before my BC buddy gets here on Monday (we plan to do a lot of driving around) but it's actually for the better because today is yet another insanely busy day for me. Taking 2+ hours out of my day for that appointment really would have messed things up. It's not a life-threatening part anyway, so next week will be fine.

For breaky I got to savor the second half of my yummy pain au chocolate. So glad I saved half! Enjoyed it with some fruit and of course coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Got a new bag from Starbucks...the Pike Place blend...which I've only ever had in Seattle before. It's smoooooth.

Since I have so much to-do today, I'm doing a work-task-work-task sort of approach. The sun is still shining so I did a couple of my outdoor tasks right after breaky. Cleaned the winter junk off the front porch (that's right Mother Nature...I put the snow shovel AWAY!) and walked up to the mailbox. On my way there I noticed my neighbor's lawn....look at those random crocuses...yaaaieeee Spring!

Another cuppa coffee while I put my HUGE to-do list together.

More work, more chores, then lunch. Still working on cleaning up the items in the fridge, so I opted for a double dose of egg whites, on an English muffin, with light cheddar and salsa. Seriously people this is SO GOOD. Served it with some sliced cukes and a big bottle of water.

My kitty was hanging around the kitchen so I broke out some treats for him. Here is Mr. Stoopy licking his chops. He loves him some kitty treats!
