Today I:
- Walked the 5km for Prostate Cancer
- Made a yummy brunch
- Did my nails
- Read a whole magazine
- Prepared my medical expenses (for the second time!)
- Fought with our scanner (but managed to scan what I needed)
- Made On the Glow granola bars
- Ate a lot of cookies
- Created a pizza for Pizza Sunday
The Walk:
In typical Halifax fashion, the good weather we had last week has disappeared as quickly as it came. It started raining last night and proceeded to continue on through the night bringing with it a whole lotta wind for this morning.
FH and I dragged our butts down to the beautiful Dalhousie campus for around 8:45ish (I wisely made us coffee to drink in the car). I snacked on a half banana smooshed with White Chocolate Wonderful (the granola bar never got eaten).
There was an excellent turn out…although it’s astounding what is considered a good turn out for this particular cause. We ran into our uber-athlete neighbors, and mostly just waited around to get going (at least with a small group like this we all fit in an indoor area). At 9:30 sharp, we were off. I had figured on about 45 minutes, but the clock struck exactly 53 minutes as we crossed the finish line. I blame the two stoplights that held us up, plus the fact that walkers were restricted to the sidewalk. haha…no excuses…it was a good walk, although we were pretty wet when we finished.
FH felt accomplished and proud of his goal…and that’s what it was really all about.
The Brunch:
Upon our return home, we each enjoyed a smidge more coffee and a celebratory chocolate chip cookie. :)
Then I set out scrambling some eggs and making bacon and toast. In the eggs: 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, dill, s&p, sauteed mushrooms, light cheddar.
On the Glow Bars: (tune in tomorrow)
The Scanner Fight: (tune in tomorrow)
And finally…Pizza Sunday: (see post later tonight)
