Local Celebs

It had to happen eventually.

I mean, how could it not?

#Pouteam was picked up by the paparazzi!!

Er, well, the local news anyway.

Last month we had a fairly large group meeting for gourmet poutine at Heron Rock Bistro in James Bay.  Just after we all placed our orders, we looked up to find a TV camera and grinning reporter at the end of our table.

Adam Sawatsky took some time to chat with a few members of Pouteam…some new, some old…while we enjoyed our mid-week treat.  Sandi (seen above) rallied as the spokesperson giving #Pouteam a good name.  Personally I just tried to eat my fries daintily as the cameraman surveyed our meals and our faces.  :)

Later that evening we made both the 5:00 and 11:00 news.

We’re famous!

As for the food, Heron Rock had some really fun poutine choices.  Mine was bacon and blue cheese.  Obviously, to die for.

Oh, I also just found this write-up about the meal from Victoria Mag blogger Simon.  He and his bud were first timers and made the news!

Unplugged

So what’s the worst thing that can happen to someone that spends her entire day on the internet?  Someone whose job is completely internet based. Someone who blogs two to three times a day.

The internet goes out!!

For five or more hours!

And the phone goes with it!

And the cablevision!

Effing hell.  Makes for a fairly unproductive day.  Me thinks I’ll be catching up on missed work on Sunday.  Lame-o.

Thanks a lot Eastlink.  Did I mention you suck?

So I made lunch!  Leftovers of my bigass Pete’s salad from last night…and some of FH’s world famous spaghetti…

nom nom nom.

I asked him for the recipe to share with you all and he said “it just comes together”.  Apparently he’s magic.  *grins*  The recipe remains a secret.

But I’ll tell ya, the secret really is the chunks of Italian sausage and whole button mushrooms.  And wine.  :)

Had I known the communication outage was going to be more than 30 minutes, I would have gone for a run.  I thought I didn’t have time today so I’d already showered and such.  Oh well.  Who knew?

I snuck in a second Starbucks trip instead.  :)  Who said two egg nog mistos in one day was a bad thing?

Tonight we had dinner with a group of friends downtown…a little belated birthday gathering.  Nice!  Sorry no photos of dinner, but if you are interested it was a club wrap with pan fries and a vodka/soda.  :)

The company was certainly more interesting than the food!

Me and the girls…Lori, Krista, Bonnie, et moi…

Bonnie rocking her HAWT shoes. Apparently FH enjoys them too.

Quick blog quiz!!  Who can tell me who this is?

IMG_6660

Hint:  Canadian Reality TV!

And birthday loot!

IMG_6668

I wore the beautiful new necklace Cat sent me.  This thoughtful girl saw that I love star pendants and hunted this one down for me.

What a friend!

I have a zillion other things to talk about but it’s late and I’m watching Glee…so I’ll try to catch up tomorrow.  Happy weekend!

Team Jacob

The release of the new New Moon poster on Facebook today reminded me of a fairly exciting moment in Vancouver last week.

 New Moon

Tiffaney:  “wouldn’t it be cool if we ran into the Twilight cast while we are in Vancouver since they are still filming New Moon?”

Me:  “you are hilarious!”

On Friday while walking up Robson Street in Vancouver with Tiffaney, she veered in front of me and started speed walking up the street going “Oh my God, do you know who that is?”.   Confused because I could only see the back of some guy’s head my answer was obviously “no”.  Well, wouldn’t you know it…it was Taylor Lautner…aka Jacob!

She had noticed some people stopped right on the sidewalk taking a photo and wondered why because it wasn’t a nice spot or anything, and just as she realized who it was they finished and he took off down the street.  I only saw him for about 100 feet, then he hopped in a waiting car and was gone.

So no photos of our own, but it was pretty funny.  She called her 19 year old sister to tell her and all I could here was her voice through the phone screaming “Oh my God, Oh my God!”.

Apparently now we’ve been Twilighted.

FYI:  I’d take Jacob over Edward any day.  :)
