Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! The horror…
This weekend I came to the decision that I drink entirely too much coffee for a person with chronic insomnia and a returning slight-ulcer. Boooooo. I am weaning down…today’s pot is half-caf/half-decaf.
My body didn’t revolt…so far so good.
Pear and Pecan Oatmeal
In the pot: 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze, 1/2 cup water, 1/3 cup oats, 1 tbsp flax meal, big shake of cinnamon. Mashed in 1/2 a chopped very ripe pear at the half way point.
Stirred in: 1/4 of a chopped pear, 1 tbsp dried cranberries
On top: 1 heaping tbsp pecan pieces, sprinkle brown sugar, the rest of the chopped pear.
Droooool.
Lunch was egg salad on a small bagel. One bagel and one boiled egg in the fridge = match made in heaven. Today’s version included capers…holy deeeeelish people.
Look at this gorgeous honeycrisp apple I got at the farm market in Mahone Bay!! Big like my head. Tart and crispy. Sliced up half and ate with some marble cheddar.
I was aiming for a noon workout, but my desire to get dressed and leave the house wasn’t happening. Knowing I have a big week of indulgences coming up got me moving right after work though.
- Treadmill: 20 minute run
- Elliptical: 15 minute cross country
- 2 sets: tricep pulldowns, bicep curls, shoulder presses, 1 minute planks
- Finished with some downward dog, cat/cow, and child’s pose. Gotta love some yoga stretches.
A big evening of completing chores was on the agenda so thankfully dinner was a big dish of leftovers. Turkey chili and roasted potatoes. I added a bunch of steamed broccoli to the plate to increase my veggies for the day.
Man…marathon post! I really need to make sure I do breaky and lunch earlier in the day. LOL. Sorry and thank you if you are still with me.
The upstairs in now fully dusted and vaccuumed, the spare room rearranged and the bed made (Cat I’m ready for you!!), and the bathroom all shiny and clean. Last night I washed all the sheets and changed my duvet cover. Hate the work, love the results. :)
Of course, once I was done and sat down to watch me some Castle I broke out a couple of pieces of the pumpkin pie fudge to go with my gingerbread tea. Deeeeelish.
T-Minus 19 hours until Miss Jen arrives in Halifax. I pick up Miss Cat on Wednesday morning and we all patiently await Miss Amy’s arrival Wednesday evening. Let the blog girl shenanigans begin!! WoooooT. :)

FYI: We need to find this fudge when I arrive. :)
Love the Friends style post titles! :) Can I just say I am jealous of your produce. That apple makes me drool.
Eek! Decaf! You are so brave.
I love Castle.
I enjoy your blog :)
Have to admit though that your new titles are driving me bonkers...not feeling it!
But the beauty of life is we all have different tastes.
Hope ya don't mind me commenting, just a wee bit of feedback.
Thanks and all the best!
Yup, I too think the "Friends" style post titles rock!! :) Whenever I go to your blog I wonder what you're going to come up with next!
I was wondering how long it would take before someone commented on my "Friends" titles! Thanks to those of you that like it! I think it's fun.
Dear Anonymous...while I appreciate that you tried to wrap your complaint within a compliment, and constructive criticism is useful, it still bugs me that you hid behind your computer and posted anonymously.
Good luck with cutting back the caffeine, and have a blast with the blog girls!
Ha! That's kind of funny that a post-titling issue would invoke an anonymous comment!
I thought it was clever ;-)
I'm bad and don't even notice post titles most of the time! But after your anon comment I read it and think it is cute!
The One Where The Anonymous Blogger writes...
sorry if I offended!
I don't have a blog or google address that's why I am anonymous :)
But seriously I should not have written the comment if it just ended up ticking you off....that honestly was not my point.
So an apology for offending you!
Au revoir!
