As much as I would love to be cooking full meals, right now it’s not always an option. But I don’t want to be falling to easy unhealthy options…so instead I picked up a few simple cheater meals at the store last night.
I used to buy this Asian Style Slaw quite often and as soon as I saw it I had to pick it up again…
I love the dressing and crunchy little wonton strips that come with this brand…
I was walking through the meat department looking for chicken when I happened upon these pre-made fresh kabobs. 2 skewers for $4! I picked up pork and beef.
To go with the slaw, I brushed these pork kabobs with stirfry sauce and let them marinate in the fridge while I went to the gym…
Then grilled them up on a sheet of foil on the BBQ when I got home.
Served atop the slaw. Nom!
Today’s workout was all about buns.
I started out on the treadmill. Man, is my cardio failing since I’ve been slacking off. Yikes. Alternated 3 minutes running with 3 minutes steep incline power walking for a total of 15 minutes.
Forgetting my exercise notes at home, I made up a bit of a bum routine as I went. 3 x 12 reps:
- weighted lunge & lift
- straight leg deadlifts
- sumo squats, squats, and one-legged squats (1 set of each)
- 30 second plank x 3
- bicycle crunches
- reverse crunches
I realized that I need to commit more bum moves to memory!
After dinner I felt like a little snack (still struggling with the candy cravings!!) so pulled this last Deep Chocolate VitaTop out of the freezer and crumbled it on top of a big scoop of vanilla yogurt.
Guzzling water to keep that treat monster at bay!
Hope I’m not up peeing all night. haha.

Dont you just love finding a healthy pre-made meal on the cheap.
I'm jealous of your Vitatops, every time i see them i'm sadface
I saw that slaw the other day, and didn't buy it because I wasn't convinced it would taste good - good to know that it does! Your dinner looks fabulous. It's definetely kabob season ;)
I love those little salad kits! I think they are great, cause everything is in one package and there's very little prep!
I'm all over grilling right now, but Kebabs for some reason haven't made it to my list of to-be-grilled. Thanks for sharing. I smell Kebabs for a dinner soon (maybe tonight) Hmmm.
Yummy looking dinner!!
