Whip it Good

Movie night was to involve a few snackies, so I threw together a quick salad for dinner a couple of hours before I went out.

In the big silver bowl: mixed greens, baby spinach, yellow pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, beets, raisins, pumpkin seeds…drizzled with olive oil and s&p…

Topped with a hard boiled egg…with extra s&p…

Side of Kashi crackers for crunch…

Garlic stuffed olives because…well, because I lurve them

It was to be a comfy couch night with the girls so I opted for comfy pants and my new lululemon cheer gear shirt!

How cute, right?!!  :)

This is the 5yr pima cotton tee…and if you have never felt one of these t-shirts I recommend checking them out.  Soooo incredibly soft.  (and long…even on 5’11” me!).

We decided to watch Whip It!.  Thanks for bringing that, Sarah!  Who doesn’t love Ellen Page, especially while she’s kicking butt roller derby style?

While we chatted and watched, we noshed…(sorry dimly lit point & shoot shots)…

Hummus, crackers, cheese, spinach dip…and decadent little turtle brownies

I brought Skinny Sticks and Lesser Evil Kettle Corn

(Don’t be fooled…this are in the natural foods section, but they really aren’t any healthier than a lot of regular snack choices…and they certainly aren’t much better in the calories!  But they are super duper yummy!)

And Sarah lured us in with the first Mini Eggs of the season…

(haha, I tweeted about those and had quite a few comments back…Mini Eggs gettin’ some love!!)

It ended up being a later night than planned.  Us girls can talk tooooo much!  I didn’t get home until 2am, and decided to read for a bit so lights out wasn’t until 3am!  ooooops.

The plan this morning had originally been to get up and head to the gym for 10am so I could have my workout before my massage appointment…but with the late night I knew that I probably wouldn’t feel up to getting up.

Boy was I right!  My alarm went off at 8:45 but I must have actually turned it off because the next thing I knew it was 11:11!  Yoikes!!  My appointment was at 11:30.  Thankfully massage requires no make-up or hairdo so I washed, brushed my teeth, pulled my hair up and ran out the door…

For the most fabulous massage…ahhhhhhhhhhh,.  Hurts so good.  One day these shoulders of mine shall be free of stiffness & pain.

Along with the mandatory chug-a-lug of water after a good massage I stopped to get my weekend latte at Starbucks

Double tall vanilla non-fat extra hot latte.

And made a big bowl of Chocolate Banana Coconut Oats to fill the hole left by sleeping through breakfast…

So it seems my first planned workout fail has occurred since starting my new fitness regime.  Ah well.  The massage was sooooo needed and a workout would just mess it up today.  I’m sure I’ll make up for it later.

And now to enjoy a relaxing Saturday with reading, relaxing, the boy and maybe a cupcake.  :)

If there is anything worth missing a workout for, it's a massage!!!

Let us know about the books. I'm always looking for a good read!
