Snowed In

I have no idea what the actual amount of snow that has fallen overnight is, but due to incredible drifts our driveway wound up with about 2 feet – 4 feet in it.  Blech.

It’s hard to motivate myself to shovel when I don’t actually have to go anywhere, but waiting only makes it worse so I had my coffee and decided to head outside.

It took me about 15 minutes just to do the stairs and make a path to the side of my car (it’s really only 3 feet to my car from the stairs).  Thankfully, our new neighbor from a few doors down came by with his snowblower (!!!) and took care of the main part of the driveway…including the heap the snowplow left us (that’s always the worst part).

003

What a guy!!

I still had to unload all of the snow from my car and then shovel that up, but compared to what I thought we had to tackle it was easy!

004

FH totally lucked out…hehe…he was going to go out later, but the snowblower guy did all his work for him.  (Don’t worry, the plow just went by and left another heap for him.)

This is my “thank God I don’t have to shovel anymore” face…

Today called for some super hearty special oats!

Dear Jaime,
I now feel properly chastised for saying "ok, it's freaking freezing this morning, I should have remembered my scarf!" when I met my friend for our morning walk into work, and the temperature was hovering at 6 degrees.
Perspective.
(Also, I'm hot now and rethinking the light sweater I'm wearing... Ahhhhh West Coast life!)
;)

This weather is ridiculous. At least shoveling is quality exercise!

So that chocolatey goodness of a breakfast made me drool! I've seen that peanut butter and I wanted to ask, is it good?

(I have a feeling, the answer will be yes....)

those oats look amazing! I am parked at the very end of my driveway right now to avoid as much shoveling as possible.

I feel like all I have been doing for the past couple of weeks is shoveling snow! Ugh.

This peanut butter chocolate oatmeal sounds like heaven to me. I need it. NOW. I don't even like oatmeal, but it sounds delish!
