DIY Date Night

When you only have 24 hours, sometimes multitasking has to take over.  FH had errands to run, a nap to take, and massive sorting and packing to do…plus we were hoping for some semblance of a date.

While he was napping I decided to run out for cookie ingredients and grabbed a few cheeses while I was at the store.  Ended up being just the answer to our dilemna.

Wine and cheese night…nom nom nom.

The wine was a bottle we’ve had hanging around for ages.  Not a favorite at all, but you do what you gotta do.  :)

His cheese, dill havarti.

038

Her cheese, French brie.

037

All together with some old cheddar, some Swiss, and multigrain baguette.

039 043

I added some sliced Honeycrisp apple for myself…and at the last minute remembered we had red pepper jelly in the fridge.

Later we cooked up the last of the homemade bacon wrapped scallops from the freezer.  Love these!  Will have to watch for  another scallop sale and fill up the freezer stash again soon.

Sometimes a relaxed night in with comfy clothes and bad TV is just as good a date as heading out to a restaurant.  In this case, it was just what we needed.

Miss you already, hon.  Be safe and hurry home. xox
