There’s nothing that can bring on the waterworks quite like the drop-off zone at the Navy base on the morning a ship is leaving for a long sail.
All the wives/girlfriends/partners dropping off their Navy men (and women), with only quick hugs and kisses goodbye in the parking lot.
It’s impossible to drive off with dry eyes.
Is it October 30th yet?
(…and let me just say, this is only a regular sail for tasking exercises, etc. I can’t imagine what it would be like if he was deploying.)

Oh my. My hubby business trips for 5 days once a year and I'm barely able to sleep. Ugh.
DH is deploying on Oct 25th, it is starting to become way too real :(
I hope these 6 weeks go by really fast for you! :)
Aw, sorry Jaime :( I can imagine how hard that must be. Time will go by really quick for you, I just know it!
Treat yourself to something nice today to cheer you up!
Poor Jaime!!! I can't even imagine!!!!
Luckily you will have some company in a couple of weeks that might help break up the time a little...it's ONLY 2 weeks until we all descend on Halifax and then from there it's ONLY 2 weeks until FH gets home!!!
I HOPE that helps!!! (I realize it isn't "only" but sometimes if you look at it that way it seems better!!!!!) *kisses*
I couldn't imagine. I'm not military nor did I grow up military so my understanding is limited. I do have a friend who's hubby just got deployed. She's home with a 4 yr old and a 3 mos old. She's lonely, so I try to spend plenty of time with them.
I just look at her in amazment, I don't think I could do it.
I hope you have plenty of support of family and friends.
