Peanut Butter Pear

Truth be told I’m a soft tortilla addict.  Especially these soft and delicious Ancient Grains ones.  I’d eat them for every meal if I thought I wouldn’t bore you all (and myself) to death.  This one served as breakfast filled with flaxerific almond butter, honey, and half a banana.

Easy, chewy, tasty and actually quite filling. Especially with coffeeeeee.

I actually forgot to eat lunch.  I know!  How did this happen?  I’m not sick or anything!  I guess it’s because I was busy getting work done so I could head off to the gym.  Thankfully I got through my workout (first in almost a week!) without passing out from hunger.

After my glorious massage yesterday my hips felt much better so I promised myself I had to go back to the gym because I had no physical excuse not to.  Since I’m off my workout schedule now I combined extra cardio with a speedy upper body workout and a mini core session…tomorrow I can incorporate lower body instead of upper to get back on sched.

As always (and especially since I missed lunch) I rummaged around in my bag and came up with a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Larabar to fill my tummy after my sweat session.

Back at home I had hot herbal tea, lots of water, and a crazy hot shower before finishing work for the day.

Come dinner time I wanted something quick, easy and filling.  The package of ground turkey in the refrigerator had to be cooked up and I figured the simplest way to do that was with some Mexican seasoning. What to do with seasoned turkey?  Taco salad of course!

If anyone ever says they don’t like salad because it’s a pain in the arse to make, I challenge them!  I had a gorgeous, bigass salad in under 10 minutes…including cooking the turkey!

So good I actually contemplated whipping up a second bowl.

After busting a few pieces off the chocolate roof on my gingerbread house I knew I needed to make a snack to curb my sweet tooth.  That big bag of pears is finally ripening up so I decided on another version of a baked pear.

Ya…that’s peanut butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.  I know, right?!

Wrapped tightly in foil and baked at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.  Drizzled with organic vanilla yogurt. nom!

Even missing a meal I feel sufficiently fed and un-snacky.  I think another cup of tea is in order to maintain this feeling. Dare I say I might actually go to bed on time and fall asleep like a normal person tonight?!

*knock wood*

You're totally right about salads. When it comes right down to it, they are one of the easiest and most nutritious things to throw together.

Mmmmmmm Pear. Noice!
