Girl Talk

This post brought to you by my Blueberry.  Sorry the photo quality is sub-par, but the fact that I took photos at all is something!  :)

After work last night I met up with my friend Cosette at The Fireside in the lounge.  How have I never been there before?  Totally my kind of place!  I love that they have cozy chairs…I sat there for over 2 hours and didn’t feel like my back was going to break.

I finally got my red wine!  Los Moras: an organic Argentinian Cab-Shiraz

x 2  :)

Since all I’d had for dinner was a quick bowl of Liberte lemon yogurt with granola, we decided to order a couple of appies to share.

[ok, worst photo ever…sorry!!!]

Uptown Goat Cheese Potato Skins: with havarti, capers and sun-dried tomatoes.

Super yum.  A nice take on a normally greasy traditional snack.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Pretty hard to go wrong with a tasty, creamy, savoury dip!  I would have preferred regular tortilla chips as opposed to the toasted tortilla wedges, but it was still tasty.

Since our original plan was to meet for a drink and dessert we couldn’t very well skip the dessert part… so we also shared the Raspberry Kuchen.

Sinful and deeeeelish.  The warm pound cake was awesome!

OK, now that I’ve seen these pictures I’m embarrassed to even have used them…but after fighting with my BB for like 3 hours to get these picture uploaded I’m keeping them here.  LOL.  You get the idea!!  :)

I love the Fireside. I believe that once Angie and I drank our way through the martini menu . . .

YUM! Maybe the pictures aren't up to your usual high standard (although I think they're fine!), but the food sure looks delicious!

And I'm pretty sure I've been to the Fireside (it's exciting to see a place I know on a blog... especially when I'm not from the same city)! I was visiting a friend (now a Booty Camp instructor, incidentally) in Halifax 4 or 5 years ago and we went for martinis :)

The Fireside is really nice and cozy isn't it? I really enjoyed our first experience there. Try the bella + goat cheese burger next time. YUM!

Glad you got out, had some vino + girl talk. :)

They may not be the best photos, but those potato skins still made my tummy smile!
