Our New Years Eve really could have been titled “Beatles-palooza”!
Good friends, food, drinks, Beatles Rock Band, and the entire new Beatles CD box set.
FH and I started with wine while getting ready…
The second bottle was pulled from our small wine collection. Happily this bottle was not corked (the last two we tried were…booo).
I had to do my hair twice. Why do I always attempt a new style when I’m pressed for time? Silly girl. It wasn’t awful, but certainly not a very good New Year’s hairdo…the second attempt was much better!
As usual, I planned too much food!
I didn’t have time to do anything from scratch this time, but came up with lots of yummy and quasi-healthy snacks to get us through the big evening…
(ummm…and a jalapeno cheese ball because I love FH that much!)
Later in the evening we cooked off some bacon wrapped scallops and veggie egg rolls (the egg rolls missed out on a photo op!).
I switched to a couple of vanilla Cosmopolitans for the rest of the night…
FH has gotten very good at shaking with glassware. We really should invest in a martini shaker. LOL.
Our party was small. Just six of us. Perfect for our Beatles Rock Band adventures!! Everyone got pretty into it and took turns on the singing and instruments…even me!! I’d never played any of these games before (aside from some group singing with the girls at Thanksgiving).
Don’t I look awkward? lmao.
In all honesty, I was terrible…but it was fun!!
At midnight we scrambled to get the champagne open and poured…
Almost missed the 12 o’clock moment!! haha.
Silliness continued to ensue…
Until after 5am! I was trying to get the boys to call it quits so I could go to sleep, but they had only 4 songs left to finish the main part of the game so we had to keep on trucking through. I finally rested my head by about 630am…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
What a night!
Thanks to our musical friends Frank, Joanne, Mark and Cosette for making New Years Eve a fabulously fun time!!!
Here’s to a fabulous 2010!
Thank you all for supporting me and Embracing Balance this past year. I look forward to keeping up with you all in the coming months.
Cheers!!!

Looks like such a fun night!! The only time I'll do karaoke or rock band/guitar hero is with a group of people!
630am is crazy, I could barely make it to midnight and that was with a nap around 10pm. :-P
Well, you out-partied me by a long shot. Good job!
I have a bar set with a martini shaker. Can't for the life of my remember where I got it. Hmm...
Happy New Year! Hope 2010 is good to you. :)
PS. I just realized today that many of us have FOUR years of blog archives. FOUR years, has it really been that long?!!
Looks like you guys had a great time!
As for the cheese ball ... I use to work for The Bright Cheese House, my mother still works there LOL I actually had the tip of my left middle finger cut off while making cheese balls LOL
Happy new year. Your food porn made me seriously drook on this one....

Wow, I only made it until 1 or 2, and I still feel like I'm going to die of tired (and I had a nap!). I salute you and your teenage-like ability to stay up late. :o)
