Good and Bad

There was tofu…

And asparagus…

The tofu was marinated…

And roasted in the oven with the asparagus…

It was OK.  Recipe not worth mentioning.  It won’t be making a reappearance.  Tasted weird and the texture was off.  It was supposed to crisp up.  It did not.

I ate the asparagus.

And the “cheetahs”!  AKA: sweet potato fries.  Around the blogosphere people are calling these cheetahs cuz of their spots.  I was confused.  Whit explained!  She sent me to Snackface to learn all about it!

Mine had maple syrup on them.  nommy!

They made up for the un-good tofu.

So did the last of the Apple Pomegranate Crisp.  With yogurt.  :)

And Gleeeee!

But not SYTYCD.  Is it just me or does everyone this time kinda suck? (comparatively of course…they are all awesome…just not awesome like previous seasons) And I don’t like the new set.  And Nigel was extra hardass tonight…not the entertaining kind of hardass either…the kind of hardass that makes me not want to watch.  Dude. Chill.

I just watched Glee! I love Glee its a great show and right now I'm watching SYTYCD and I totally agree I'm just not caring about any of them, but I honestly think a big part of it is the new set, its horrible and takes away the "show" of it JMO.

Here is an odd thing, we just used basically the same post title!! LOL

Wow, where the heck have I been? I didn't know SYTYCD was on again. When I saw your post the other day about it I thought you were watching repeats lmao! :)

I love love love sweet potato fries. Did you just put maple syrup on them? Anything else?

I made some the other night with thyme, chili powder, salt and pepper and olive oil. YUM!

I watched Glee last night, love that show! My new love though is Vampire Diaries. Cheesy? Yes. Twilight rip off? Kinda. Incredibly hot villian? DEFINITELY!!!

Wow, I had sweet potato fries last night, too! Nom nom

SYTYCD - totally overdone on it. Watched all summer, then did the Canadian one. That's enough for one year. Great summer viewing, though!

Oh Cheetahs! haha too cute! I love roasting sweet potatoes in any form!

I've never watched SYTYCD. Not that I don't want to, but I never seem to catch it!

Hello. I don't normally post, but I wanted to say that I am so completely impressed that even with your FH gone you continue to cook meals that are healthy and awesome ... just for you. It shows that you really value yourself and I think that is great. Every day it strikes me how good you are to yourself. I wish you could bottle that and sell it to me! :)

Oh I'm sooo glad to find other people who like Glee!!!! My friend base around me don't like the show and I live now for Wednesday nights!!!
I also am not fond of this year's SYTYCD...to 'showy' for my taste!

I love sweet potatos! I'd eat them everyday if I could.

Jaime, that shelf stable tofu is definitely weird texture-wise and is better in smoothies than roasting or baking. Try the tofu found in the refrigerated section - I usually buy Nasoya brand (firm)- but not sure if you have that in Canada. Don't give up on the tofu, yet -LOL!

LOVE sweet potato fries!

Okay, needless to say, I LOVED GLEE!!!! I actually cried like 3 times during it too...not cool since I was watching it with FIVE people!!! BAH!

I am NOT loving SYTYCD this season...I am not really enjoying many of the dancers, and frankly, I think the choreography is kind of sucking...and they seem to LOVE the girl that I HATE!!!
Anyway, I think they should have taken a bit of a break on it instead of having it on again right aways!

Thanks for the tofu advice ladies.

This one was EXTRA FIRM but it fell apart in the marinade and didn't crisp up like the recipe led me to believe. I'll definitely try a refrigerated version next time (although it will probably be a while since FH is finally coming home and the meat based dinners will return!).
