I was recently contacted by the folks over at MyLifetime.com about checking out some brand new Cook Yourself Thin recipes.
Essentially what’s happening is every Monday, through December 14th, MyLifetime.com will release about 5 to 7 new recipes from the authors of the popular “Cook Yourself Thin” book series. These are exclusive recipes that cannot be found in the current book or the new one, “Cook Yourself Thin FASTER”— which hits shelves right before the New Year.
I’m a teeny bit late on getting this information out there, so they have already posted two weeks worth of recipes.
No-Guilt Desserts | Week of November 16
Easy Weeknight Dinners | Week of November 23
- One-Dish Fish
- Honey-Glazed Salmon and Snap Peas
- Baked Ziti
- Open Lasagna
- Flank Steak Spirals
- Pork and Roasted Pears
- Sloppy Joes
- Curried Chicken Salad
I wanted to make at least one of the recipes before posting, so last night I finally picked on to try out and I’m glad to say it was certainly successful. Obviously I had to start with a dessert. All for the good of the blog, right? bwahahaha.
I love baking so I chose the Toffee Bars. I would probably call these Toffee Cake Bars, just to be clear. I expected them to be more of a cookie bottom because of the name (it’s a bit of a bummer that they don’t offer photos of the food on the website), but they turned out more like a soft cake with toffee on top (sort of Blondie-like I guess). Either way, super yummy!
Only 134 calories per bar according to the website. What I really like is that it just makes a small pan (12 pieces) so no extras hanging around the house!
Of course, you should not be like me if you are indeed trying to cook yourself thin. I ate four of these the first night! Note to self: step away from the plate!
I plan to try one of the dinners this week and am looking forward to seeing what the new list of recipes is on Monday.
As a little incentive to check out MyLifetime.com there is a nice contest going on. When you visit the site, you will see there is a chance to win a copy of “Cook Yourself Thin FASTER”. Just go comment here with your favorite "Cook Yourself Thin" tip to win!

They look yummy!! I LOVE to bake, unfortunately I LOVE to eat it too.
The Cook Yourself Thin Peanut Butter Dream Bars are yummy too.
Just curious... how many calories if you eat the whole pan?
They look great. I wanna try them too.
Okay so I wish I liked to bake more. I mean I like to eat the baking...just don't like the actual baking part *s* I like to cook though....
However, I am cooking Christmas dinner this year so a dessert might make it on my to do list!
oh man, that looks good and I love the idea the portion leaves you with something that doesn't last for days and days and days...that is always my problem with sweets cooking, too big of batches and then I seem to eat it for days and until its all gone vs. the just "one piece" I had wanted..
thanks for the tips!
on another totally unrelated note - I was telling hubby about your whole great idea of the cross boarder exchange and we are both stunned that the US folks don't have ketchup chips! I never knew that, guess I haven't shopped for chips in long long time US or Canadian.! and I don't think I could find a french chateline around these parts without some serious newspaper store. Almost makes you wonder if there is enough of a difference between east and west canada to do an exchange that direction... since you have gone extreme west to east, have you found that?
Mmmm, I'd probably eat the whole pan!
OMG...those look good. I am so glad I can't smell them. I look forward to the other recipes you listed. I like to eat fish - hey, I used to live in NS too! But baked fish can get a little boring. The lasagna sounds good too.
Jaime, not sure if the problem is with my computer but I couldn't get any of those dessert links to work. They all went to "Page not found".
Salmon recipe looks amazing!
Ugh, thanks for the heads up Tamara! The links worked fine yesterday when I posted this so I have emailed my contact to find out what's going on. I need those recipes!!
:)
Dessert links fixed!
Those are all such awesome recipes! So glad you tried out the toffee bars - I will have to make those now!!
