Thanks to my Mom for sending this. It fits right in with the whole Food Inc. thought process. Do you look for local produce when you shop? Do you realize your apples are from New Zealand and your tomatoes are from California? Where did your eggs or steak come from? Things to think about!
Visit Hellman’s website and watch this video!

I am super jealous that you girls got to see it.
It never came here.
I got into a tv program called 100 Mile diet on food network.
It was so informative.
It's sad to think that we buy foods we have access to local but convience is key even though it's from another country.
Thanks for that! I just signed up! In the past week I started looking at ALL the produce signs saying where it came from. Whenever possible I choose Canada. I had no idea that Hellman's was Canadian. I love the EVOO Hellman's mayo
You know what really irks me at my Safeway? The sign says "US Pink Lady Apples" yet EVERY SINGLE apple has a New Zealand sticker!
I know that my potatoes and spinach comes from Innisfail, AB. My bison is raised just outside of Grande Prairie (more than 100 miles from me, but within 100 miles of the family farm). The peaches and nectarines I've been devouring (eating doesn't seem to really capture how wonderful they are) are from the Okanagon (sp?) valley in BC. Carrots and greens come from my own garden!
H =)
Hmmm, thanks for that. I find it interesting. There is no scientific basis for a lot of the assertions out there about food, but there is scientific evidence that the fresher, the better. So of course local food is going to be the freshest. I think I might start paying more attention.
