Pump Up the Volume

So when I switched computers back in February, I didn’t carry over my music portfolio.  Some of those songs I have had for years and I think I just didn’t care any more.  Needless to say this has left me with the same 300+ songs on my iPod and they all bore me to death.  I don’t even bother wearing my iPod to the gym anymore because none of the songs motivate me and I find myself distracted from my workout because I’m spending so much time clicking through the songs trying to find something I want to actually listen to.

This is where you all come in.  100+ followers = 100+ new songs, right?  I want your input!  What songs do you never tire of?  What songs motivate you every time you need to get your sweat on?  What new songs just scream Summertime fun to you right now?

I am open to pretty much anything.  I’ll try any song once!  :)  Leave me one or two of your favorites in the comments for this post.

Oh, and just so you know…I’m already in the midst of acquiring all of the songs for the new Black Eyed Peas album.  ;)

My new favorite is Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas, or That's Not My Name by the Ting Tings

My favorite cool-down tune is Teardrop by Massive Attack. I'm partial to Handlebars by Flobots too.

Numb - Lincoln Park - such a good song to really push yourself to.

I'll be checking back, love this post, I'm in desperate needs of some new tunes as well.

Must check out Vanessa's blog. She's the first person I've met who even knows that song Handlebars, never minds likes it! Okay, I don't know what kind of music you are into but here are a couple of my faves:

Red Light Green Light - Limp Bizkit with Snoop Dog

Life is Beautiful - Sixx AM

Le Disko - Shiny Toy Guns

Faster Pussycat - Paul Oakenfold

I need some new ones too! Starstruck by 3OH3 has a great running beat but the lyrics are a little, uh, unsavoury!

I look forward to the comments!

Love Again by Cascada is my FAVOURITE song to run to. I always put it on when I have to do hills.

I have the WORST taste in workout music. I find the tempo and beat of pop music keeps me going, so my run playlist is Britney, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls, etc. I will spare you any more!

The Tragically Hip - at the hundreth meridian. It was blaring on my iPod the first time I ran for 20 consecutive minutes on the treadmill and I was bouncing off the thing so hard I thought I was going to fly off! lol

Speaking of, I lost ALL of my music when hubby installed a new hard drive and am now accepting donated burned data disks from friends collections (one so far), so feel free to donate with a burned disk in tow with ya on friday night. I want it all, the old, the lame, the bad and the good :-D

I like country (admittedly bad for workout music) and 80s music, but for some reason no one shares my tastes. :o)
