Thanks to Project Energize I was up earlier today than a normal work day! Angie and Lynn invited a few of us to join them for their new weekly ritual of a Saturday morning run. Last night I wouldn’t commit because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but before bed I reminded myself how energized I felt after my two runs this week and knew I had to do it!
Plans changed a little this morning, with the gals deciding to take their run indoors…but they were going to my gym so that worked out perfectly for me. In fact, I got there early and had already almost finished my run when they arrived…so I doubled my workout by adding a jaunt on the elliptical and some strength training. WooT!
- Treadmill: 3 minute warm-up, 3 x 7:1, 2 minute cooldown = 2 miles (3.22 km), 200 cals, 29 minutes
- Elliptical: cross-country, varying resistance, 10 minutes, 1.2 miles (1.9 km), 100 cals
- Strength: 30 squats, 30 lunges (each leg), 30 crunches, 30 reverse crunches, 2 x 1 minute plank
Toast with The Bee’s Knees and banana before I went…
Coffee with the girls after…Grande Egg Nog Bold Coffee Misto…
and a couple of cute little biscuits…
Lynn commented that she loved this as a way to start her weekend…and I have to agree!
Upon returning home and showering I was definitely starving. Leftover veggie pizza to the rescue!!
With a POM, pineapple juice and club soda spritzer…reeeefreshing!
This afternoon I’m off to check out a Christmas Craft Fair with my friend Sarah and then dinner out. Sarah shares my enjoyment of ethnic food so I’m sure whatever we decide will be awesome.
Lynn is right which is not surprising to me ;0) starting with a weekend with a workout is awesome, wish I had..
ReplyDeleteHope you let us know how the craft fair was, we were gonna head in but deciced against it.
